About me?

Originally from Belgium, I have been living in Montreal for about thirty years. I restarted my life in Canada and professionally, I have worked in tourism for many years, whether it was negotiating contracts, developing products adapted to the local market, networking within various communities, training salespeople, organizing trips... I am very comfortable in social settings.

I started simply by taking photos for work. Nothing too complicated, I photographed hotel rooms and tourist sites during my scouting trips to document travel brochures. Then, I took many shots of the places I visited to build tourist materials and training sessions that I provided to my colleagues, travel agents, or clients.
I also covered many events in Montreal and elsewhere, which allowed me to develop my photography skills in challenging contexts.

During the pandemic, I completed a commercial photography course at Marsan College in Montreal, which added technical skills to my intuition. One of my very good decisions!

More about me

What inspires me: artistic fields such as painting, primarily non-figurative. Artists in general attract me, particularly those with strong, colorful, and eccentric personalities.

Colors or black & white? Colors, all colors. Especially colors.

Portrait or landscape format? Portrait without hesitation. To the point where video disturbs me because filming in landscape format is counter-intuitive for me.

A phrase I wish I had written: 'The photographer must have the art of capturing the decisive moment, but above all, the art of anticipating it.' Remy Donnadieu

A piece of advice...

A piece of advice for those who want to be photographed? Don't complicate your process by interviewing numerous photographers. If you like someone's work, hire them. Of course, they will be talented, professional, friendly, and easy to work with.

Another passion

Argentine tango, which I have been practicing for about 15 years. It is a complex dance and a drug for both the body and the mind. The best tango music is old and heartfelt. Montreal is a city that offers a huge range of possibilities for learning and dancing tango.
